COMPANIES ARE BECOMING MORE DEPENDENT
ON CONTINGENT LABOR, ACCORDING TO REPORT SPONSORED BY GUIDANT GROUP
Aberdeen Group Reports MSPs Such As
Guidant Group Will Become Increasingly Important To Manage Contingent Labor
Programs
HOUSTON, July 20, 2010 —
With nearly 60 percent of companies becoming more
dependent on their contingent labor programs over the next two years, The
Contingent Labor Management 2010 Report, published by the Aberdeen Group, found
that companies will have a greater number of Statement-of-Work (SOW),
Independent Contractors (IC) and services-based work employees.
The report, sponsored by
Guidant Group Inc., a managed services and talent acquisition consulting
company, takes an in-depth look at how companies can better manage their
ever-expanding contingent workforce, including ICs and SOWs. It suggests
companies can manage their contingent workforce by exhibiting spending control
and securing a quality contingent workforce as they focus on:
-
Key
performance metrics required to derive value from temporary
workers
-
Core
technologies and solutions that help leverage, track and
organize contingent spending and labor, such as Managed Service
Providers (MSP), Vendor Management Systems (VMS) and Independent
Contractor Engagement Specialists (ICES)
"Since the modern contingent labor program has evolved
to become more complex, it is only appropriate that companies utilize the proper
tools to gain intelligence around their spending and utilize that information to
forecast and budget for the future," said Christopher Dwyer, Aberdeen Group
research analyst, in the report.
The companies that are considered "best-in-class
performers" drive a 76 percent higher cost savings on contingent labor spending,
achieve a 45 percent higher labor rate policy compliance than all other
organizations and rate their contingent worker quality higher than their peers.
"The cost savings achieved by best-in-class
performers in the Aberdeen Group report are available to any company that makes
the strategic decision to implement a more comprehensive contingent workforce
management program," said Jennifer Beck, Senior Vice President and Managing
Director, Guidant Group. "A number of Guidant Group customers, including Service
Corporation International, University of Southern California and Northeast
Utilities have seen reduced costs with their temporary workforce while
streamlining their contingent labor processes."
