Guidant Group has a proven track record in integrating their comprehensive contingent labor management approach in mid-market companies (defined as companies spending less than $10M annually on contingent labor). We understand the need to be agile but also to be able to take advantage of the gains that large companies have made in their labor programs. Guidant Group's goal in creating a mid-market approach was not to retrofit our large client model and simply make work for mid-market clients. We revamped our model to take in to account the particular needs of the mid-market.
According to a new study, "Perspectives from America's Economic Engine: The US Middle Market Outlook 2007", from the Economist Intelligence Unit conducted in association with CIT Group Inc., "When it comes to obstacles to growth, a shortage of talented staff is cited most frequently (35%), followed by labor costs (25%) and market saturation (25%)."
To rephrase, the number one labor problem facing mid-sized companies is a shortage of talented staff and the second biggest problem is cost. The Guidant Group approach took these two considerations into account when developing our Marketplace solution.
The mid-market sized company has the same issues but requires a different approach, Guidant set out to create a solution, called Marketplace, which caters to the mid-market needs. Marketplace resolves the below issues for our mid-market clients:
- Reduce the time required by our mid-market clients in getting the right resource at the right time
- Marketplace addresses this by offering a technology solution that allows our clients to create job templates and distribute jobs to a defined supplier market through an online application
- Access to volume discounted pricing
- Marketplace has an established supplier community with pre-negotiated fair market pricing with built in volume discounts
- Ability to enter, track, and approve timecards online
- Marketplace allows for the online entry of timecards and expenses, tracking that entry and an ability to enter approvals which time stamps that approval for reporting purposes
- Ability to efficiently track contingent labor spend
- Marketplace tracks hourly pay and bill rates, cost center spend, spend by hiring manager, and overall contingent labor spend
- Create reports on contingent labor usage
- Marketplace reporting includes: spend, time entry, job and requisition tracking and more
- Receive one, consolidated invoice
- Marketplace's technology will create one consolidated invoice which can be uploaded in to your HRIS application, reducing the possibility of manual errors and the need for manual input of invoices from each supplier firm
- Single point of contact for help, issue resolution, or questions
- Marketplace offers a single, dedicated point of contact from our central helpdesk in Houston, Texas
